We were both raised in agriculture, and it’s been a part of our heritage. It offers a career where you can work together as a family. Some days we’re economists, some days we’re animal scientists and some days we’re agronomists. Agriculture presents a different challenge every day and we love it that way.

Using technology in our operation

Technology is the great leveler. It has enabled us to be better managers of our cattle and our finances. Our record keeping has become very streamlined, whether it’s animal records or financial records. We are constantly gathering data and now we can do it remotely with the smartphones in our pockets.

Our vision for the future

We’ve always been a cow-calf operation, but we’ve transitioned into a seed-stock operation. We’re doing more and more seed stock every year and trying to grow the business so that it can support our family. We want to make sure that this operation can evolve so that we can bring our daughters in as the next generation.
