He advises senior leaders on the volatile U.S. political environment and helps design strategies to protect client interests and advance client initiatives in Washington. He also travels the U.S. speaking to large customer groups, boards of directors, and gatherings of senior executives to provide insight into the political dynamics shaping Congress, the Administration, and the agriculture and financial services industries.
As Farm Credit Council CEO for nine years, Todd led efforts to modernize the Farm Credit System’s approach to national communications, lobbying, grassroots, and crisis preparation. The Farm Credit System is a $500 billion nationwide network of financial institutions financing U.S. agriculture, rural infrastructure, agribusinesses, and U.S. farm exports. He designed and led efforts to build Farm Credit’s reputation and support for its mission to serve agriculture and rural communities. During his tenure, he developed successful relationships with federal legislators, regulators, and federal department heads to protect and advance Farm Credit’s interests.
Todd also headed efforts to build consensus among board and leadership teams from independent Farm Credit lending institutions across the U.S. and Puerto Rico to arrive at shared strategies for national communications, lobbying, grassroots, and crisis management. He and his team developed common messaging to support those strategies and build brand equity.
